SANTO y SOMBRA (Saint and Shadow)

Santo y Sombra is an immersive art residency that delves into the tension between sacredness and shadow, legacy and rebellion, tradition and transformation. Rooted in the complex layers that define Mexican identity: wealth and struggle, power and fragility, devotion and rebellion — Santo y Sombra creates a visual dialogue between the opulent and the raw that embraces the richness of history while pushing the boundaries of contemporary fashion. Join us Gallery Night as we welcome Nohemí Chávez Contreras as our third artist of the 2024-25 cohort. We hope to see you in the gallery!

Rina Yoon – Desert Notes

Desert Notes is a body of recent work inspired by living in the Sonoran Desert in Arizona, known for its exceptionally diverse biome, fierce climate and iconic cacti. The series of paper-cast works mimic both the jagged desert terrain and its vegetation’s adaptation to the extreme heat and sunlight. The work reimagines the desert’s contours, distilling its raw textures into a tactile exploration of survival and adaptation.
