Immerse yourself in a world of fantastical creatures composed from a collage of influences: the cosmos, nature, mechanical parts and discarded toys. The Bird & the Hand: The Art of Benjamin Pollock & Carey Watters

The Bird & the Hand brings together the work of Benjamin Pollock and Carey Watters through a shared fascination with the ways humans seek meaning in the natural world. Pollock’s drawings combine precise geometric structures with birds, revealing hidden forces and questioning the arbitrary boundaries between humanity and nature.

Watters’ cut-paper works stem from years of photographing hand imagery, beginning with Orthodox depictions of Christ in Bulgaria. Through an interest in augury and symbolic traditions, her work investigates how even the most commonplace forms — hands, threads, and simple objects — become sites of myth, devotion, and meaning.

Scaling a Pyramid: Jonathan Latiano

“Size is objective, but scale is subjective.” This multidisciplinary installation combining microphotography and sculpture to explore perception, scale, and the relationship between the monumental and microscopic. A small coral sand pyramid modeled after the Great Pyramid of Giza is paired with thousands of images documenting every individual grain of sand within it. Each grain becomes a record of time, transformation, and natural history, revealing connections between ancient monuments and the materials that compose them. By shifting focus between vast structures and tiny fragments, the work challenges traditional ideas of size, proportion, and the meaning of monumentality.

VERDANT DAYDREAM: MICHELLE SCHILLING

Centered around ever-changing moments in nature, Verdant Daydream is a reverie of lush woodland foliage. Initially drawing inspiration from personal photographs of natural environments, this collection of mixed media paintings captures brief glimpses into reimagined earthy scenes. Rich colors and delicate brushstrokes work to convey a dreamlike sensation, which is complemented by the textured additions of paper, thread, and yarn.

This sensory otherworldliness is mirrored in the flora itself, possessing its own innate qualities of complex beauty and mystery. Ultimately, these works are a deep reflection on vibrant landscapes — an invitation to slow down and notice the brief, magical moments unfolding in nature.
