Eight sculptures and 16 hanging lanterns will transform the park into a mesmerizing wonderland of art, light and geometry.
In this exhibition, we provide a shared space for the work of these artists, including William J. Blackmon, Simon Sparrow, Reginald K. Gee and Della Wells. Whether the medium is grocery bags, house paint, scrap wood, glitter or costume jewelry, these artists sing, proclaim, and innovate through art; embodying Wells’ words.
As a part of our 15th-anniversary celebration, the Grohmann Museum has organized a blockbuster exhibition from one of the premier collections of American industrial art — The Shogren-Meyer Collection. A collection focused primarily on the art of the 1930s and ‘40s, it also includes many fine examples from the surrounding decades, with many created during the depression era — a time of both toil and triumph.
Marcus Performing Arts Center and Milwaukee Downtown, BID #21 host “Broadway Skates” at Red Arrow Park’s “Slice of Ice,” featuring the music of HAIRSPRAY, Broadway’s Tony Award®️-winning best musical, coming to Milwaukee, February 7 – 12, 2023. Guests of all ages are encouraged to dress in their favorite 60s fashions and skate to tunes spun by DJ Shawna, official DJ and producer of the Milwaukee Bucks, from 6 – 8 PM. Prizes will be awarded to the best themed outfits, including tickets to the opening night of HAIRSPRAY!
Shelley Smith’s paintings exude calmness. They feature architectural elements in the Milwaukee area that have been around for decades and as such have become almost like wallpaper — they exist but are for the most part overlooked. Smith’s paintings sharpen our powers of observation by inviting us to pay attention and look afresh at our constructed surroundings that are all too often in a state of constant change.

Join The Pfister Hotel in the Rouge Ballroom, located off the lobby, to enjoy light refreshments and to celebrate and interact with the 5 selected finalists as they showcase their work. One of these 5 finalists will be selected as the winner in early February and named the 14th Pfister Artist in Residence.
